Son's of Blackbird Mountain by Joanne Bischof

Recently I received a copy of the following book in exchange for my honest review. This post will have book purchase advertisement. The FTC requires you to be given a fair warning. Now relax and enjoy the review.

I was blessed with a copy of this book to read, courtesy of Joanne Bischof  and the Publisher, Thomas Nelson. All opinions are my own, and I was not required to review the book positively.

Synopsis:

A Tale of Family, Brotherhood, and the Healing Power of Love

After the tragic death of her husband, Aven Norgaard is beckoned to give up her life in Norway to become a housekeeper in the rugged hills of Nineteenth-Century Appalachia. Upon arrival, she finds herself in the home of her late husband’s cousins—three brothers who make a living by brewing hard cider on their three-hundred acre farm. Yet even as a stranger in a foreign land, Aven has hope to build a new life in this tight-knit family.
But her unassuming beauty disrupts the bond between the brothers. The youngest two both desire her hand, and Aven is caught in the middle, unsure where—and whether—to offer her affection. While Haakon is bold and passionate, it is Thor who casts the greatest spell upon her. Though Deaf, mute, and dependent on hard drink to cope with his silent pain, Thor possesses a sobering strength.
As autumn ushers in the apple harvest, the rift between Thor and Haakon deepens and Aven faces a choice that risks hearts. Will two brothers’ longing for her quiet spirit tear apart a family? Can she find a tender belonging in this remote, rugged, and unfamiliar world?
A haunting tale of struggle and redemption, Sons of Blackbird Mountain is a portrait of grace in a world where the broken may find new life through the healing mercy of love.

My thoughts:
I cannot begin to express how much I loved this book!! First of all love all of Joanne's books, so it was not a surprise that I enjoyed this one also. But there was something about this book that was just special. Joanne did something that I have not seen before, she wrote through the perspective of a deaf person. She did an amazing job might I add! My favorite character is definitely Thor, he's so sweet and kind and lovely

So this book is about 3 brothers who live in the mountains of Virginia and a woman from Norway. After Aven's husband dies she moved to be with Aunt Dorothe and 3 of her nephews, upon her arrival she finds out the Aunt Dorothe has passed away. Not knowing what to do and having no where else to go she stays with the three brothers. Aven has to choose between two brothers that have feelings for her. Who will she choose?? You have to read the book to find out...

This book has so much in it, Romance, Heart Ache, Joy, Action & Adventure.
I highly recommend this book if you have not read it yet!.

About the Author:

Joanne has a long-standing passion for romance and a budding fervor for theology. She is more and more awed by how wondrously the two go hand in hand.
So depraved are we in our sinful state—so in need of a Savior—that the love story between God and his people is nothing short of astounding. A quenching of the thirst to parched souls. A light that makes the darkness tremble. A freedom from the bondage of pain and sin. Joanne is beyond thankful to be a part of this great love story and writes books to not only portray the glorious wonder of human love, but to reflect the ultimate romance and rescue that comes through Christ.

“We all have ways of bringing offerings to His feet. Words and the telling of story are one of those gifts that I lay down. It is my constant prayer that they honor and please Him.
Thank you for stopping by! I hope to learn a little bit more about you by connecting here!”
